I’m Kim. I’m a wedding photographer based in Northern California. Take a peek around to learn a little bit more about me and what I love to do. Bridal Hair + Makeup: Promo Shoot in San Francisco

I love getting the opportunity to work with other wedding vendors.  Not only is it fun meeting new people but it’s also like finding someone who speaks your secret language.  The language of weddings.  So you can bet I was excited when I was contacted about photographing a portfolio shoot for a makeup artist and hair stylist. All the thanks go to Marissa Clark Torres and Michelle Stehle for organizing and putting everything together for this shoot.  I am so thankful to have been a part of it!  It was such fun working with you both.  Marissa did a gorgeous job on the makeup for the models and Michelle and Rebecca Taff did a beautiful job on each model’s hair.

The morning started bright and early at Groove Salon in San Francisco.  It was the perfect space to document all the getting ready action.

Once the girls were all dolled up, it was time start modeling.  And these girls were fantastic!  They looked amazing and knew how to work the camera.

We headed to a different location and were welcomed by my favorite thing…pretty light.

A huge thank you again to Marissa, Michelle, Rebecca and all the girls who modeled!  Happy Tuesday!

Lauren + Adam: Vintage Inspired Wedding in Vancouver, WA

I am grateful for many things that have happened this year.  For the opportunities I’ve had, for the new friends I’ve made along the way and for my discovery of La Croix Coconut water.  Although my love for fizzy flavored water runs deep, it’s the growing friendships that mean the most.  Tori Wible is one of these women that I am thankful for.  She’s as sweet as can be with a heart of gold.

When Tori told me that she was hosting a workshop/styled shoot up in Vancouver, WA, I knew I was going to do everything in my power to go.  And I’m so thankful that I did.  Her vision for this shoot came to life and oh, what a beautiful vision it was.  It was such a fun day to be a part of.

One of my favorite details of the shoot was the couple that modeled for us.  Lauren and Adam are beyond adorable and were so pumped and excited for the opportunity.  They got married a few years ago and don’t have many pictures to remember their big day with.  And even after a long day of photographing, their love for each other shined brightly.  So much so that it might as well have been their actual wedding day.

A huge thank you to Tori for her vision, friendship and heart for helping others.  And to all the other girls, I seriously loved meeting each of you!  The day started out like any other wedding day – with a dress, shoes and getting all dolled up.

We headed to Pearson Air Museum which provided the perfect backdrop for the day, with vintage airplanes and all.

I just about happy danced when this plane drove out onto the runway.  Talk about love at first sight.

Love me some gorgeous details.  Tori’s ideas were perfection and Jacey from Simply Inspired Wedding & Events did an amazing job designing and putting everything together.

I adore these frames by Rustic Poppy!  And the invitations by Invitations Ink were so cute and the perfect fit.

Dallas Curow - Kim, these are so much fun! Styled shoots are so much work, and you can tell you and the other great vendors put so much care and love into this. The bride and groom are stunning and the location/concept is to die for. Most of all, your work really shines!

Brotherly Love

I’ve truly been blessed in the job department.  Prior to starting my own photography business, I was a nanny.  It was a job I did for years for various families and I loved it.  And these 3 boys were a huge reason why I enjoyed it so much.   Although weddings are my normal forte, hanging out and getting the chance to see and photograph these cuties is something I never pass up.  Time always feels like it is flying by but never more so then when I see how fast they are growing up.  They’re getting so big but no matter how old they get, they will always hold a special place in my heart.

Those big beautiful eyes get me every time.

They have such a sweet bond with each other.  I love these last two frames because they show that bond.  They are all about having a good time and laughing together.

Happy Tuesday!

Veronica + Marcello: Old Whaling Station Adobe Wedding, Monterey – Part II

Welcome back!  Part II of Marcello and Veronica’s wedding is picking up right where we left off in Part I.  Their ceremony was held outdoors at the Old Whaling Station Adobe.  It was a beautiful day in Monterey and the details fit the location perfectly.  Anticipation was growing and they were so excited to see each other for the first time.  As the groomsmen and groom walked down the aisle and took their places, Marcello had his eyes glued onto where Veronica would be walking out.  She was all smiles walking down the aisle but her face lit up completely upon seeing the man she was about to marry.  I loved that about this couple.  That they expressed whatever they were feeling throughout the day and let themselves get lost in the special moments.

Their ceremony was a beautiful expression of who they are as a couple and their love for each other.

I always love capturing the moments right after the recessional.  Hugs, smiles, congratulations and tears.  And, in this case, Marcello checking out his new hardware on his left hand.

After family formals, we strolled around Monterey for their couple’s pictures.  It was a picture perfect day.

It doesn’t get any cuter than these two together.

We headed back to Old Whaling Station and it was time to start the reception.  A big thank you to Grapes of Wrath catering for providing such delicious food.

A beautiful first dance under strings of lights.

One of my favorite moments of the day.  I almost always tear up during the father-daughter dance.  And this one was no exception.

All smiles surrounded by friends and family.  The perfect way to end a beautiful wedding day.

One of my favorites!  🙂  A big thank you to Jana for second shooting this wedding with me and for this picture.  And V and Marcello, you guys are the absolute best.  xoxo.

Veronica + Marcello: Old Whaling Station Adobe Wedding, Monterey – Part I

It was in the smiles they shared.  The heartfelt hugs.  The contagious laughs.  And the tears of pure joy.  Their big day, years in the making, was finally here. From the moment we arrived, you could feel the excitement.  You could see it written all over their faces.  Wedding days are always special.  And this one?  Extra sweet. With sprinkles and a cherry on top.

This past Saturday, Veronica and Marcello were joined by family and close friends in Monterey for their wedding.  The ceremony and reception were held at the adorable Old Whaling Station Adobe.  It was the perfect place for an outdoor wedding and thankfully, the weather cooperated and the day was beautiful.  So beautiful in fact, that it was hard narrowing down the pictures.  Instead, this wedding will be blogged in two parts.

V and Marcello, words can’t quite express how happy I am for you both.  I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to get to know you and even more thankful to call you both friends.  Thank you so much for having me document your day and be a part of such a wonderful celebration of love.  Hope you are having the best time relaxing and soaking in all Kauai has to offer.  Looking forward to that double date when you guys return!  Happy Honeymoon!  xoxo

Big smiles as Veronica soaked the moment in.

While I was with the bride, my second shooter Jana headed over to Portola Plaza Hotel to get a few pictures of the guys getting ready.  This bunch was relaxed and all about having a good time.

Inside Old Whaling Station Adobe, there were so many great areas for bridal portraits.

Veronica, goodness, you are one stunning bride!

Veronica’s best friend and maid of honor, Nadine, was always by Veronica’s side.  It was so special to watch the love and friendship between these two.

Veronica was surrounded by these 5 lovely ladies on her big day.  I loved how each girl had their own style and it worked oh so well together.

After finishing up with the ladies, I headed over to Portola Plaza to snap a few pictures of the handsome groom.

And a few of Marcello and his lifelong friends and groomsmen.

Ceremony, formals and reception up next.  Stay tuned for Part II on Monday.  Happy Wednesday!
