I take too many pictures on vacations. A fact I was repeatedly reminded of by my younger brother on our recent trip to Florida. He would often sigh or give me weird looks every time I put the viewfinder up to my eye. He would continually ask ‘why’. Why take a picture of that, why take so many pictures or why take pictures at all. Oh, teenagers.
The real reason as to ‘why’ is because I equate my camera to my memory. It is my memory. Sure, I remember those special moments in life, but photographs document the way I see life.
A few weeks ago, my mom, brother and I returned from a wonderful week in Florida. It was filled with theme parks, relaxation and family time. And lots humidity. I know Florida can get humid but it was only April and boy, was it hot. But we had a great time enjoying all that Florida had to offer. Together.
Our home away from home for part of the week. Loved this resort.
Day 2 we spent at Universal’s Islands of Adventure park. We are all Harry Potter fans so going to Florida and not visiting wasn’t an option. Universal did a really great job with it and the ride inside Hogwarts was awesome.
Day 4 we spent at Disney’s Animal Kingdom which is one of my favorite theme parks. Nobody does a better job than Disney with upkeep, creativity and originality.
This is what you get when you ask your little brother to “look like you like me” in a picture. And I love it.
We ended our trip with visiting my great aunt for a few days. She has an adorable pup who is appropriately named Precious. She is indeed.
The best part of the trip? Spending time with these people! ♥
