I’m Kim. I’m a wedding photographer based in Northern California. Take a peek around to learn a little bit more about me and what I love to do. WPPI 2011 in Vegas. The Wrap Up.

As I write this, it’s Wednesday and I am currently sitting in the Las Vegas airport.  I try and get cozy on the black vinyl chair near a window.  Night has fallen and I peer out at the lit up Vegas strip through the glass.  I’ve got my iPad perched on my lap as I try to perfect my two finger typing.  I’m exhausted.  Completely exhausted.  But in a good way.  In a happy and inspired way.

These past 5 days, Matt and I have been here for WPPI.  It has been 5 very busy days of learning and trying to soak in as much knowledge, experience and networking as possible.  The whole thing was overwhelming but I learned a lot.  Met some of my favorite photographers.  Made new friends.  Sang Elvis songs and ingested too much caffeine.

Favorite parts:

– PhotogUnite.  Perhaps my favorite thing of the entire trip.  Christian photographers coming together in the middle of sin city to give glory to God.  The amazing Brian Wurzell led the worship music and Albert Tate gave a beautifully moving and powerful sermon.  Loved every minute of it and met some wonderful people.

– Platform classes.  Some were awesome.  My favorites:  Jose Villa, Jasmine Star and Mike Larson.  Each gave me a fresh view on different areas within my business.

– Meeting photographers that I admire.  It pays to keep your eyes peeled while walking around.  I ran into and chatted with so many photogs that I look up to.  All of which were incredibly nice and gracious. And of course, having lunch with Jamie Delaine.  She’s a total sweetheart and it was lovely to meet her.  Getting advice and guidance from someone as talented as she is was invaluable.

– Dinner at Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris hotel.  Best French Onion soup.  Ever.

– The lights. Bright and bold.  Nothing says Vegas like the neon lights of the Strip.

– Exploring the new CityCenter.  Lots of pretty details and such lovely architecture.

– Feeling inspired.  It would be hard not to be.  I walked away from it all incredibly excited for what is to come.  What God has in store for my life.  I love what I do.  I am passionate about what I do.  It is so important to bring those two qualities into every aspect of our lives.  Welcoming it and embracing it.

– Having Matt there with me.  I’ll be real and admit that this being my first time, I was intimidated and nervous.  It was wonderful to have his support and his willingness to take separate classes and notes when I wanted to be in two different places at once.  What a guy!  I love this pic too.  We’re stylin’.

I’ve got big plans.  Even bigger dreams.  Beginning to make those dreams a reality, one day at a time.

Kim - Thanks gals!
@ Veronica – Yes! Let’s schedule the date soon! Can’t wait 🙂
@ Jessica – CityCenter is amazing! We went there briefly back in July but this time Cosmopolitan was open and it’s beautiful! That’s where the purple bead pic was taken.
@Adrienne – Thanks girl! It is the best when no matter where we are, we take time to worship Jesus. Looking forward to seeing you Thursday!
